She began teaching yoga in 2020. “As a yoga teacher I feel it is my responsibility to remain humble and always be a student first, even when there is not an apparent teacher; To learn from and have gratitude for every situation. I strive to know the part of my self that already is everything I could ever seek to become, and to help others find that within themselves as well. All the while making yoga safe and accessible for anyone and everyone! “
Audrey Lutz has been practicing yoga for over 6 years and earned her level one training from YOGAFIT in 2015. She completed her RYT-200 training through the University of Wellness in the spring of 2020. Audrey started her yoga-teaching journey in 2015 providing classes to Veterans enrolled at the VA medical center. Her goal is to bring awareness to others of how our stress response can be calmed by connection of movement and our breath to achieve a sense of peace in the body and mind. She is passionate about healing and self-care and maintains a heavy focus on the importance of self-compassion and finding joy and purpose in life. She believes life is all about balance and finding ways to release negative energy in your body with movement. In addition to serving as a yoga teacher: she is a mother to 2 boys, wife to a loving & supportive husband and is a clinical therapist.
Deborah has been a student of yoga since 1995 and a teacher since 2004. She finds yoga to be a beneficial constant companion through all of life’s twists and turns. Her study has been in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya, who was the teacher of BKS Iyengar and Patabhi Jois, founders of Iyengar and Ashtanga (or Power) yoga styles. She has completed 500-hour teacher training and 1000-hour yoga therapy training in this tradition (known as viniyoga) and teaches not only the asanas (postures) but also breathing, sound, and other meditative techniques from this tradition for a blend of stretching and invigorating flow along with the focus that makes yoga different from gymnastics, dance and other forms of movement.
Besides yoga, Deborah is also a licensed massage therapist practicing since 1991 and has extensively studied Asian bodywork, including acupressure, shiatsu, sotai, aromapoint therapy, and cupping and offers those services at Kindred Spirits, too. There are many paths to well-being!
